Bud Stone

Bud Stone passed away peacefully on September 15, 2020 after a battle with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 92.

Bud’s wife Helen preceded him.  Bud had been in a family care home since July 4. Bud and his son Bryan made their very last RVF Rally trip to Gold Point NV on October 12, 2014. Bud could no longer drive his RV much less walk very far. He wanted to attend our rally and be with his friends.

Bud is the first person that IBud is the first person that Iasked to join our club when Ibegan organizing Riverside East. He served as our secondpresident in 1988-1989. I know that our older membersremember the devotion and passion that Bud brought to Rotary.

Bud also served our Rotary District 5330 for many years. He built the boxes for our big Rotary wheel and the district's flags as well as several items for RYLA. He donated the use of his RV that Gary Echito drove to transport Group Study Exchange teams as well as hosting many GSE team leaders. Bud and Helen were the host family for our first Youth Exchange student. However Bud's greatest devotion to District 5330 was serving as the District Rose Parade Float representative for almost 20 years. Bud attended meetings every month in Pasadena and set up the videos that featured each Rotary International President.
